Wilson Garcia claimed to have urged his neighbour to fire further away late on Friday night since Garcia’s infant son was sound asleep. Garcia said that when the guy refused, he dialled 911. The Associated Press reported that the family made four further calls.
“I commanded my wife to enter. Garcia said, “This guy has loaded his firearm. My wife advised me to enter the house because “he won’t fire at me, I’m a woman,” she said.
The first victim was Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25, the wife of Garcia. Garcia’s kid, age 9, also perished. More than a dozen people, according to Garcia, were there in his house at the time, and two ladies died while guarding his newborn and 2-year-old daughter, who were unharmed.
Greg Capers, the sheriff of San Jacinto County, said he only had three officers patrolling 700 square miles, which is why Cleveland’s police department took so long to respond. Cleveland is located approximately 45 miles north of Houston. When the cops came, they saw an awful scene.
According to Capers, “everybody who was shot was shot from the neck up, almost execution style,” and allegedly the suspect, Francisco Oropeza, who has been deported four times since 2009, had consumed alcohol before to the shooting.
Despite a search involving more than 250 law enforcement officers from various jurisdictions on Monday, Oropeza, 38, remained at large. On Monday, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported two potential sightings; however, each time, the searches turned up nothing. “He could be anywhere right now,” Capers added.
