$2.04B Powerball Winner Buys New $25.5 Million Home In Hollywood Hills Near Jimmy Kimmel And Ariana Grande

The winner of the $2.04 billion Powerball prize just put Jimmy Kimmel on notice and bought a mansion near the ABC star’s house. Edwin Castro, the winner of November’s jackpot prize, just bought a 13,578-square-foot home in the Hollywood Hills for $25.5 million.

This comes one month after Castro claimed his 1-time payment of $997.6M before taxes. His new neighbors are Jimmy Kimmel, Ariana Grande, and Dakota Johnson. Castro’s new mansion is 3 levels.

It has an infinity pool. A full outdoor kitchen. The house has a gym, wine cellar, movie theater, and sauna. It’s also got a deck on the roof with an amazing view.

According to The Dirt:

Perched on the edge of a ridge, and built into the side of a nearly sheer cliff, the blocky contemporary boasts more than 13,000 square feet of living space, complete with five bedrooms, five baths and two powder rooms.

Castro paid $25.5 million for the keys, a discount off the property’s nearly $30 million original ask.

Built by noted developer Roman James and previously featured in Robb Report, the sexed-up contemporary stands three stories tall.

The main level contains a vast central living area anchored on opposite ends by a giant fireplace and kitchen sporting black granite countertops. Walls of glass make for a seamless connection to the entirely hardscaped backyard, which offers a full outdoor kitchen and infinity pool.

The house is unapologetically austere in its hard-edged, modern persona, with exterior walls painted masculine shades of gunmetal gray, charcoal and black. But inside, things get softer with beige-toned stone and decadent touches.

That’s particularly true of the recreation-themed lower level, which offers a gym, cold plunge pool, wine cellar, movie theater and sauna.

On the mansion’s penthouse level, the master suite has its own private balcony and a bathroom clad in exotic slabs of black-and-white marble. There’s also a rooftop deck.

Castro is also getting sued by a man who claims he stole the ticket from him. According to TMZ:

According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Jose Rivera says he bought his lottery ticket from Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, CA on November 7 — the day before the big $2.04B drawing.

He says a man by the name of “Reggie” stole the ticket from him the very same day he bought it.

After the numbers were drawn, Jose says he tried to get Reggie to return the ticket, which allegedly held the winning numbers, but to no avail … with Reggie simply saying it wasn’t a winner, and if found he’d agree to give up half.
