Chris Cuomo came clean to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci about his firing from CNN. Cuomo told Scaramucci on Anthony’s podcast that he “was going to kill everybody,” including himself after getting let go by the network.
The former primetime anchor was fired from the network in 2021 for advising his brother, ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on how to deal with a sex scandal that led to the then Governor’s resignation.
Chris, 52, told Scaramucci on the podcast, Open Book with Anthony Scaramucci: “I’m very flawed, there’s damage. I still fail and I have learned to accept it. I had to accept my firing because I was going to kill everybody, including myself.
“Things can consume you.
“There is damage that is relatable, there is damage that is unrelatable to people that I have to deal with, that I am working on.”
Cuomo said he admitted he “makes a lot of mistakes” and started therapy to deal with being “sh*t-canned” by CNN.
“At CNN and I wasn’t set up to be No. 1.
“I wasn’t the big name there, I didn’t have the big team, they didn’t do the advertising about me.
“But I was still No. 1.
“Because it was the best show.
“Because I was giving people what they needed in that moment,” he said.
