Ex-NFL star Adrian Peterson ripped Damar Hamlin over the jacket he wore at the Super Bowl calling it blasphemy. Hamlin wore a $3,150 Takashi Murakami “Travis Jesus” jacket that had a crucifix with an altered Jesus head.
Peterson said: “You should be thanking God son! This is Blasphemy!! We all fall short but cmon man! I find this disrespectful!! #grateful #goddid”
Former star running back Fred Taylor shut down Peterson saying: “You should DM him bro. I’m sure he’s listen to your opinion. Posting it doesn’t help anyone. He’s young, young ppl don’t always think before they wear things just like people who wear skulls and other things that doesn’t align with Christian beliefs. Try to reach him.
Adrian, who is a devout Christian, fired back:
“But this was different! I know young people don’t think at times,older as well! But with everything surrounding his situation!! This isn’t one of those moments where it’s a young guy not thinking.”
Hamlin gave an interview ex-NFL star Michael Strahan where he said he was doing great and hoped to play agin if that was in God’s plan.
Strahan said: “What is the first thing you remember when you started to wake up?”
“Just hearing my family members,” Hamlin said.
“The competitive nature in me was still just thinking about the game.”
Hamlin said he couldn’t believe the support from the NFL community and across the world.
“I think the whole situation, it just showed that we can all come together.
“It was surreal.”
“What has been the toughest part about this whole experience?” Strahan asked.
“Just processing my emotions,” Hamlin said.
“I’m a person who, I kind of like my privacy in a way. But this situation just brought me to the light of the world, which is a good thing in a way, because I think I stand for so much good and I want to set a good example for communities around the world.”
Damar said he wants to play again:
“Eventually, that’s always the goal, but I’m allowing that to be in God’s hands.”
