Even though House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has threatened to remove Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Omar may still be able to preserve her committee post. It will be more challenging to keep Omar off Foreign Affairs for prior antisemitic sentiments than it was for McCarthy to prevent Representatives Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) from serving on the Intelligence Committee.
