So, I saw this question online, and I thought it was interesting. If you won concert tickets to both Springsteen and Kid Rock, but could only go to one show, who would you pick? I guarantee you the results of this very informal poll are straight down politcal lines. Because Bruce Springsteen is a raging liberal and he loves that vaccine. Instead of being a “rebel,” these day Springsteen shills for Big Pharma, but he thinks he’s part of the “resistance.”
A couple years back, when he was on Broadway, he had some of the strictest vax rules. The New York Times reported that when Bruce Springsteen walks onstage on June 26 in the first show to return to Broadway, his audience will have had to prove that they’ve been vaccinated. And those inoculations have to be with vaccines authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Moderna’s, Pfizer-BioNTech’s, or Johnson & Johnson’s.
That is bad news for the Boss’s fans in Canada, where 1.7 million people have received the AstraZeneca vaccine. “Burn in the U.S.A.,” The Toronto Star headlined its report on Wednesday. Truth be told, they may have to wait anyway. Covid travel restrictions between the United States and Canada border are set to expire on Monday, though they are widely expected to be extended again, as they have repeatedly throughout the pandemic.
New York’s St. James Theater, where Mr. Springsteen will perform, describes the show as “a solo acoustic performance” and “an intimate night with Bruce, his guitar, a piano and his stories.” On Tuesday the theater announced that it would only accept proof of F.D.A.-cleared vaccines “at the direction of New York State.”
Attendees under 16 are exempt from the requirement but must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult and show proof that they tested negative on a recent coronavirus test. There are no exceptions for people who are unable or unwilling to be vaccinated.
It’s absurd looking back at that stuff now, especially after we realize the vaccine does absolutely nothing, but possibly cause you to have a “sudden coincidence.”
Kid Rock on the other hand is anti-vax and very hardcore right-wing.
But for this thought experiment, I want you to do something…I want you to leave politics out of it and decided based only on the music.
