What the heck is going on right now? Everywhere I look young people are either dying suddenly, or being mauled to death by pitbulls. It’s unreal how many tragic stories are out there right now. And things are getting heated out there in Twitter Land, as more and more stories of pitbull attacks spread like wildfire. This is what blogger Matt Walsh says about the recent attacks: “Pitbulls should be banned and there is no sane argument to the contrary. They are dangerous animals, responsible for a vastly disproportionate number of fatal maulings in this country. The fact that you think they’re cute does not outweigh the danger. Ban them.”
Matt made that comment after a 7-year-old Louisiana girl was mauled to death by a pit bull.

And now, an 11-year-old Georgia boy is in the hospital, after a pitbull attacked him, ripping off his ear and 80 percent of his scalp.
The Blaze reported that an 11-year-old Georgia boy was the victim of a ferocious pit bull attack. The owner of the dangerous dogs was arrested.
Justin Gilstrap was riding his bicycle through the neighborhood on Friday when he was suddenly attacked by three loose pit bulls. The 11-year-old boy was ripped off his bike by the dogs and dragged into a ditch on the side of the road.
Gilstrap’s 11-year-old cousin, Mason Aguilar, was playing soccer when he heard Justin screaming.
Ericka Gilstrap, Justin’s mother, told the Augusta Chronicle, “By the time he got to him, he could see the dogs, and that’s when he called 911. Justin was alone when it happened, and that’s what is so heartbreaking to me.”
Justin’s grandmother and a neighbor rushed to rescue the boy. The grandmother used the bike to beat the dogs off Justin while the neighbor dragged the boy out of the ditch. The grandmother was bitten on the forearm during the incident.
Ericka said her mother noted that there was “just blood everywhere.”
“She couldn’t tell where she was bleeding from … but apparently he was bleeding from everywhere because there’s not an inch of his body that is not covered in a cut or bruise,” Ericka explained.
The 11-year-old boy had one of his ears ripped off and 80% of his scalp was torn off from the pit bull attack. Justin required staples on the bottom of his feet because he was kicking the dogs in an attempt to fend off the pit bull pack. The bone on his leg was exposed after being mauled.
Ericka said, “As a mom, I don’t even know where to touch him. When he wants a hug, I’ve got little places on his face I’ll kiss, but I don’t want to hurt him. There’s one spot right over his heart that doesn’t have any bruises or marks, so I put my hand there and rub when he starts waking up, and he just goes right back to sleep.”
Justin has been sedated in the hospital because of the excruciating wounds. He is being treated as if the dogs have rabies as a precaution.
The heartbroken mother hopes her son won’t have PTSD from the traumatic experience.
How horrific for the family and mostly that little boy.
How do you feel about what’s happening and what Matt said about banning pitbulls?
