Conservative actor Tim Allen recently offered some not-so-friendly, but much-needed advice for CNN’s new boss, Chris Licht, who is struggling to keep to his word that he was going to make CNN better, and return them to their “roots” of good, unbiased reporting. So far, that seems like a lot of “malarkey,” because partisan, unserious hacks like Don Lemon are still there, spewing their hate and lies. Recently, the New York Times did a full-blown story on Christ Licht, and Tim Allen read it. And he shared a quote from Licht from the story in a tweet.
Here’s what Tim said in his tweet: Hmmm…well said quote from the CNN new boss. Maybe a re-focus on accuracy not bs. CNN’s Chris Licht: “So Much Of What Passes For News Is Name-Calling, Half-Truths And Desperation”
Prior to that, Licht had said that “The uninformed vitriol, especially from the left, has been stunning,” which proved his point about what passes for news.

CNN’s Chris Licht: “So Much Of What Passes For News Is Name-Calling, Half-Truths And Desperation”

Media Right News reported that according to Deadline, Licht’s indicated in the Times profile that he wants to offer a “rational conversation about polarizing issues,” so that viewers will “take what they’ve heard (on CNN) to the dinner table and have a discussion,” he said. “That’s a dream of mine.”
Licht’s attempts to shake things up have mostly been on par with the way things have been going at CNN: bad.
While CNN’s Jake Tapper broke the story about Kyrsten Sinema’s move to Independent from Democrat, his prime-time stint failed and ended following the midterm elections, after only a month.
CNN’s “This Morning” show has not fared well against its competition, much like the previous programs in that time slot, despite having switched Don Lemon from prime-time.
Licht also acknowledged that he’s faced a firestorm of criticism from liberals for attempting to make CNN less partisan.
It should seem pretty clear at this point to him that the only way to make CNN successful again would be to completely revamp the on-air talent but time will tell if it will happen or not.
Here’s the thing. Tim is right, Licht needs to make hard and bold moves if he wants to get CNN even close to a “comeback.” Right now, all Chris is doing is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as the ship sinks.
You cannot expect people to take you seriously as a network when you have partisan TDS clowns like Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, and Chris Wallace still leading the parade.
If Chris is serious about change, they all need to go… but I don’t think he has the “balls” to do it. So, hopefully, Discovery brass will give Chris his pink slip soon, and bring someone in who can get rid of the “BS.”
