According to a new report from Fox News, Disney is facing a flood of families cancelling their membership over a perceived biased, leftist agenda.
One parent noted “Walt would turn over in his grave” if he saw what Disney has become” in the Fox report profiling 10 familes.
Another Tennessee dad said of Disney, “I think they’re going to lose on this wokeness gamble”
This is what Disney tweeted this week:
Foxreported:
Patti Garibay, an Ohio-based parent and grandparent, is executive director and founder of American Heritage Girls, a faith-focused alternative to the Girl Scouts. She told Fox News Digital this week via email, “It is time to void your household of all things Disney.”
“Walt Disney most often cited his most important lesson as that of ‘goodwill always triumphs over evil.’ Today’s Disney promotes a full spectrum of lifestyles that rarely align with the biblical values of good and evil, which God calls us to,” she explained.
“It has been said before and it bears saying again, ‘Walt would turn over in his grave’ to see what his beloved company has become. It’s no longer a safe haven for families to promote good over evil, but rather an environment without a moral compass.” she added.
The report adds that a Tennessee father of a 10-month-old daughter told Fox News Digital, “As a new father, I have decided not to expose my baby to any of Disney’s products — anything they stream, or the theme parks. There are so many other wholesome options for her.”
“I will let her watch the older Disney films on DVD that I was raised on — they taught values that kids need and can understand, things like loyalty, friendship, working through obstacles, and the love of family,” he continued, adding, “Disney doesn’t seem to understand that parents have so many options now. Ultimately, I think they’re going to lose on this wokeness gamble.”
Acccording to Fox Business, a Disney shareholder is speaking out against the company’s involvement in Florida politics by actively opposing the Republican-led “Parental Rights in Education” bill championed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Ray Keating, an economist and editor of DisneyBizJournal.com, said when companies dive into politics, it rarely turns out and well.
“Here’s a suggestion for Disney CEO Bob Chapek: Get back to business, that is, excellence in storytelling, and stop wasting shareholder’s money on political crusades that have nothing to do with Disney’s business,” Keating told Fox News Digital.
“We all have the right to have our voices heard on issues, but not on the shareholders’ dime.”
