ITHACA, NY – Apparently, Cornell University is now offering what it refers to as “Mxnstrual Products” – tampons and pads – in men’s restrooms at the university. Outside of the absurdity of tampons in a men’s bathroom, the use of the imaginary word “Mxnstrual” to describe menstrual products was due to the real word “menstrual” being deemed a “gendered term.”
It seems the bathroom-brigade is at it again, with organizers behind the “Free Period Products” effort at Cornell University placing baskets inside of men’s restrooms at the university with an accompanying sign that reads “Free Mxnstrual Products.”

Members of the Gender Justice Advocacy Coalition (GJAC) and Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund Commission are the folks behind this “Free Period Project,” which said collective feel as though everyone deserves a tampon for free – including men.
GJAC President Clara Drimmer noted that they first placed the tampons on women’s restrooms only but then decided to expand because some students are clearly in the midst of a gender identity crisis.
“As of 2017, they had put menstrual products in women’s and gender-neutral bathrooms on campus. In 2020, they decided to put them in all bathrooms on campus, and the rationale behind that was that regardless of how people identify biologically or gender-wise, everybody should get access to these products.”
In other news pertaining to tampons and the sort, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that menstrual products will no longer be taxed in the state in an effort to make things more “equitable.”
“By repealing the tax on menstrual products, we’re saving families from paying taxes on up to $4,800 of spending over the course of a lifetime.”
Governor Whitmer boasted this recently passed effort as something that will benefit those financially struggling, saying, “slapping a tax on top of all that essential spending, we’re taking resources away from families that could’ve gone toward paying the bills, putting food on the table, or savings for a car or a home, education or retirement.”
Tax cuts certainly aren’t a bad thing by any means – but this isn’t exactly going to bankroll an individual either in terms of savings. Michigan has a 6% sales tax, so by alleviating this tax on products where an individual might spend $4,800 in the course of a lifetime – they’ll have saved an astounding $288 throughout their life.
