For decades, Democrats and their pals in the national media have done their best to sweep their deep-rooted corruption under the rug.
But every once in a while they get caught red-handed.
And now a top Democrat was convicted of corruption in this bombshell federal court ruling.
Former Democrat Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo has had a horrible past 12 months.
Scandal after scandal popped up that forced him out of office by his very own party.
But the corruption ran deep in his circle.
Back in 2018, Joe Percoco – a close ally and considered a “brother” by Andrew Cuomo – was convicted in a lower federal court of bribery and sentenced to six years in prison for his crimes.
While aiding Cuomo’s administration, Joe Percoco accepted $300,000 in bribes to allow certain companies to “get in close” with Cuomo.
And according to reports, his appeal has failed and the federal appellate court in Manhattan has upheld his conviction.
The New York Post reports:
Percoco, who was once so close to the governor he was likened by him to a brother, was sentenced to six years in prison for bribery and honest services fraud in 2018. He ran Cuomo’s 2014 re-election and was known as his political enforcer.
Percoco — whom the ex-governor once called a “third son” to his late father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo — was convicted of accepting more than $300,000 from companies that wanted to gain influence with the Cuomo administration.
At trial, prosecutors showed that he even referred to his bribes as “ziti,” a term he lifted from HBO’s mob show “The Sopranos.”
Democrats have been corrupt from the beginning.
So it’s no surprise to see yet another one of their cronies facing prison time for accepting political bribes.
Who knows how much more will come out exposing the corruption of Cuomo’s time in the spotlight in New York.
But while the radical Left wants to demonize conservatives at every turn, it’s their top Democrats like Cuomo who show how corrupt they really are by accepting bribes from companies for some classic quid-pro-quo.
It makes you wonder how high the corruption reaches.
