“You will get picked up.” That’s what the State Department told Nasria, an American who was in Afghanistan to get married when the Taliban took over. She had a booked flight home, which was cancelled, and she and her husband tried many times to get on flights. They slept on the street at times, waiting for opportunities to board planes at the only airport the United States hadn’t abandoned.
We all saw that chaos, the deaths, the terror attacks at the airport in Kabul. All the result of Biden’s fatally bad exit.
Voice of America interviewed Nasria, who asked only to use a first name out of fear for her safety. She’s in hiding now, behind Taliban lines, one of hundreds left there by Joe Biden.
The State Department told them to go to a specific location at a specific time to be picked up. The State Department never showed up.
The Biden administration said many times there would be no problems getting to the airport for any Americans. But Nasria was turned away over and over despite her passport, despite having contacted the State Department, and despite those assurances. And she has footage to prove it.
“Our troops were literally at the gate just waiting for us to continue walking and they had blocked us,” she said. “There was a time that like, I went past them and started walking as fast as I can, and they started shooting right by my leg and told me to come back.”
That’s the Taliban, shooting at an American with a passport trying to reach the airport, per instructions from Biden administration, in sight of our troops. And nothing was done. She’s still there.
“What hope am I supposed to have now?” she asks.
This is Biden’s legacy. The press are already trying to bury it. Don’t let them.
