The Democrat scheme to strip states of the ability to hold their own elections is now doomed to fail thanks to Senator Joe Manchin. Democrats cementing into place the tactics that were used to cheat their way into total control of the government is looking more and more short-lived.
In an op-ed that was published in Sunday’s edition of the Charleston Gazette-Mail, the West Virginia moderate revealed that he would be voting against the Orwellian named “For The People Act”. The bill has been fraudulently marketed as legislation that would protect the voting rights of people of color.
According to Manchin, “I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening blinds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For The People Act,” adding that “The truth, I would argue, is that voting and election reform that is done in a partisan manner will all but ensure partisan divisions continue to deepen.”
Manchin’s opposition to a bill that would effectively end democracy in America comes days after Joe Biden called him out. The attack was also directed at Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema for their refusal to knuckle under by voting to eliminate the filibuster. The procedure is the only remaining obstacle to one-party rule.

If Biden thought that his bullying would sway Manchin then Sunday’s op-ed piece should serve as a wake-up call that such heavy-handed tactics come with a risk of backfiring. Manchin’s promise to vote against the Dem election rigging bill is the equivalent of a torpedo strike amid ships.
Biden has been a fierce advocate for the Democrats’ legislation and has relied on his standard dishonest race-baiting demagoguery. He has compared election integrity laws passed by several states in the aftermath of the 2020 election as being comparable to the Jim Crow laws that existed back when Democrats were the party of the segregation and the KKK.
We all know that is just a bunch of hogwash, just like Biden’s oft-repeated lie about the very fine people “on both sides” hoax that was effectively used to dishonestly capture the black vote.
Manchin: “I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For the People Act. Furthermore, I will not vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster.” https://t.co/P1N79VG1Wa

In what could be interpreted as a response to Biden’s demands for the two Dem holdouts to fall in line and vote to end the filibuster, Manchin also wrote “…some Democrats have again proposed eliminating the Senate filibuster rule in order to pass the For the People Act with only Democratic support. They’ve attempted to demonize the filibuster and conveniently ignore how it has been critical to protecting the rights of Democrats in the past.”
Manchin added, “As a reminder, just four short years ago, in 2017 when Republicans held control of the White House and Congress, President Donald Trump was publicly urging Senate Republicans to eliminate the filibuster. Then, it was Senate Democrats who were proudly defending the filibuster. Thirty-three Senate Democrats penned a letter to Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., warning of the perils of eliminating the filibuster.” He wrote.
Then came a middle finger extended directly to Biden, “It has been said by much wiser people than me that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Well, what I’ve seen during my time in Washington is that every party in power will always want to exercise absolute power, absolutely.” Manchin wrote, “Our founders were wise to see the temptation of absolute power and built in specific checks and balances to force compromise that serves to preserve our fragile democracy. The Senate, its processes and rules, have evolved over time to make absolute power difficult while still delivering solutions to the issues facing our country and I believe that’s the Senate’s best quality.”
Manchin’s editorial pretty much signals that he is not going to bend to pressure to nuke the filibuster Barring the defection of Mitt Romney or one of his fellow rats to the enemy side, the bulk of Obama, Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, and the Congressional Black Caucus’s radical agenda is effectively dead.
It’s probably inevitable that Manchin will soon find himself smeared as Putin’s puppet or have his home surrounded by Antifa mobs. However, he could go down in history as an American hero if the Dems go on to lose control of Congress in 2022 and are removed from power before they can destroy the entire system.
