The Biden administration is allegedly covertly transporting non-accompanied migrant children to Tennessee to then move them to different cities.
According to 3WRCB, the minors arrived to in late night flights to Chattanooga. Now, Tennessee legislators are demanding an explanation.
“Chattanooga’s Wilson Air Center is receiving planes carrying migrant children who are being bused to multiple southeastern cities during overnight hours,” the news outlet noted.
It further reports that the buses have been headed to Miami in the state of Florida, and Dallas in Texas.
These two cities are also joined by Chicago, according to an article by The Chicago Tribune, which reveals that the shelters located in the city, have seen “the largest number of young migrants who crossed the border with Mexico in search of asylum since 2014.”
“Since December, nearly 500 children have been placed in foster care in Chicago-area shelters, most of them from countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras,” the report notes.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told 3WRCB that the flights were enabled by the HHS.
Senator Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee Republican, told Fox News that the transport by migrants is taking place in “the dead of night without the knowledge or permission of the communities involved.”
Bill Hagerty, a Republican Senator for Tennessee, denounced that now every city “is now a border town.”
He also tweeted “Further evidence of the systematic resettlement of migrants in our communities that is occurring because Biden won’t secure the border or enforce immigration laws, making illegal entry easy & removal of illegals nonexistent. It’s time for Biden to be transparent w/Tennesseans.”
The Governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee, led approximately 20 other Republican governors in a call for action to the Biden administration pertaining to the Southern border, noting that the immigration crisis was spreading to many states across the country.
“The Biden administration refuses to secure the border and instead is scattering unaccompanied children across the country with no regard for the consequences,” Lee told Fox News.
“When we push back and demand answers, they cut off transparency and embolden one of the worst human trafficking crises we’ve seen at our border in the last 20 years,” he added.
The number of unaccompanied children found in March was 19,960 and 17,171 in April.
