Only Joe Biden would use police week to release a statement to lash out at cops.
In a statement honoring National Police Week, Biden began by paying respect to the country’s fallen police officers and stated that his administration would work to support local law enforcement.
After declaring that his administration would work to ensure law enforcement has “the resources and research tools they need to do their jobs successfully,” Biden slammed “distrust” toward law enforcement that exists within minority communities.
“This year we also recognize that in many of our communities, especially Black and brown communities, there is a deep sense of distrust towards law enforcement; a distrust that has been exacerbated by the recent deaths of several Black and brown people at the hands of law enforcement,” Biden said.
“These deaths have resulted in a profound fear, trauma, pain, and exhaustion for many Black and brown Americans, and the resulting breakdown in trust between law enforcement and the communities they have sworn to protect and serve ultimately makes officers’ jobs harder and more dangerous as well,” he continued.
Biden essentially blamed the entire law enforcement institution for “the resulting breakdown in trust” between minority communities and law enforcement.
It’s a provable fact that an extremely small percentage of law enforcement officers have used deadly force to kill citizens, and those that overstepped or made the wrong decision usually always have been held accountable for their decisions.
Another incredible aspect of Biden’s statement is that he only mentioned the deaths of minorities at the hands of law enforcement.
After all, data clearly shows that more white people are shot and killed by law enforcement than minorities every year.
Because that’s not what it’s about.
Biden’s statement was a nod to the far left and the “woke” side of the Democratic Party who are desperate to make everything about race.
It’s ridiculous and disgusting that Biden decided to use his statement on National Police Week to essentially slam police.
As an example, here’s part of Donald Trump’s statement on National Police Week from 2019:
On behalf of our grateful Nation, we proudly recognize the more than 900,000 sworn members of law enforcement for their resolve and dedication in the face of dangerous uncertainty. The thoughts and prayers of our Nation are with them and their families, and we will always owe them our appreciation and support.
Our Nation’s law enforcement officers serve with courage, dedication, and strength. They fearlessly enforce our laws, even at the risk of personal peril, safeguarding our property, our liberty, and our lives. We owe them, and their families, our full and enduring support.
I also call on the Governors of the States and Territories and officials of other areas subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day. I further encourage all Americans to display the flag from their homes and businesses on that day.
Notice a difference?
